Connecting U – Event Host Agreement

This Event Host Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between Connecting U (“we,” “us,” or “our”) and you, the individual or organization registering to post and manage events as a Host on the platform.
By creating an Event Host account or posting any event on connectingu.ca, you agree to this Agreement as well as our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines. If there is a conflict, the Terms of Service will take precedence.
1. Eligibility & Requirements
- Be at or over the age of majority in your province or territory
- Maintain an active Event Host subscription or be within your free trial
- Provide accurate and complete information for your account and listings
We reserve the right to approve, limit, or revoke Event Host access at our discretion.
2. Event Listings & Responsibilities
As an Event Host, you are responsible for:
- Creating accurate and public-facing listings
- Labeling events clearly with age restrictions (e.g., 18+, family-friendly)
- Selecting the correct event category (e.g., arts, wellness, nightlife)
- Managing RSVPs, ticketing, and communications with attendees
- Handling your own refund and cancellation policies
Do not post:
- Private or invitation-only gatherings
- Business promos or product launches
- Events focused on lead generation or recruitment
- Events promoting misinformation, hate speech, or unsafe health claims
These types of content may instead be shared via:
- Your profile or Page
- Groups you manage (if allowed)
- Community discussion threads
3. Ticket Sales, Fees & Tax Responsibility
By using Connecting U’s Stripe ticketing system, you agree to:
- Set your own ticket prices and refund policies
- Fulfill refund requests if an event is cancelled or changed significantly
- Pay applicable ticketing or processing fees (disclosed during setup)
- Report and remit taxes in accordance with local, provincial, and federal law
Note:
- Connecting U does not guarantee ticket sales, attendance, or outcomes
- We are not a party to any transaction between you and the attendee
- Stripe’s terms govern your use of its payment services
Refund Disclaimer: Connecting U may review unresolved disputes and reserves the right to limit hosting privileges if refund issues are recurring.
4. Subscription Flexibility & Support
You may pause or cancel your subscription anytime. Hosting tools will be paused during that time.

5. Promoting Your Events & the Platform
We encourage Hosts to:
- Share your event link on social media
- Mention Connecting U in newsletters or promotions
- Display signage or QR codes at your event
- Tell guests they can find more events on connectingu.ca
6. Event Conduct & Safety Expectations
- Treat guests and users with respect
- Provide a harassment-free and inclusive space
- Consider accessibility needs (mobility, sensory, communication)
You are solely responsible for your event’s planning, staff, safety, and execution. Connecting U is not liable for related issues.
7. Cancellations & Major Changes
- Update your listing immediately
- Notify attendees directly
- Offer refunds or suitable alternatives if appropriate
8. Event Visibility & Platform Promotion
By posting events, you allow us to:
- Display your event in search results, feeds, and newsletters
- Use your event title, description, or media for platform promotions
You retain full ownership. We will never resell or misrepresent your content.
9. Legal Compliance
You agree to comply with all relevant laws and rules, including:
- Venue permits and insurance
- Accessibility and public safety standards
- Ticketing regulations and tax remittance
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Connecting U from liabilities arising from:
- Your event or its content
- Your conduct or negligence
- Complaints, disputes, or injuries
- Misuse of platform tools
11. Non-Endorsement
Connecting U supports events but does not endorse individual listings unless explicitly stated. Your events reflect your brand, not ours.
12. Account Termination
We may suspend or remove accounts for:
- Repeated policy violations
- Inappropriate or harmful content
- Ticketing or messaging abuse
- Failure to provide services or issue refunds
Terminated accounts are not eligible for refunds.
13. Platform Growth & Feature Updates
Our tools, fees, and policies may evolve. Hosts will be notified of major changes affecting your account.
14. Use of Automated Moderation Tools
Automated tools may assist with moderation but do not make final decisions. All actions are reviewed by a human moderator.
15. Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding login credentials. Notify us of unauthorized access. We are not responsible for losses due to compromised accounts.
16. Communication Consent
By becoming an Event Host, you agree to receive service-related emails from us. You may opt out of marketing emails anytime.
